Women Who Lead: Honoring the Strength, Faith, and Influence of Women

March is recognized as Women’s History Month, a time set aside to honor the contributions, courage, and leadership of women throughout history. But for those of us in faith and ministry, this month carries even deeper meaning.

It reminds us that the story of God’s work in the world has always included women who were willing to rise, lead, and serve with courage.

From the beginning of Scripture, we see women who played critical roles in advancing God’s purpose. Women who spoke truth, protected generations, led communities, and influenced history.  Their stories remind us of a powerful truth:

God has always used women to move His mission forward.

Yet many women today still wrestle with questions about their leadership, their voice, and their calling. Some feel the tension of navigating spaces where their gifts are questioned. Others carry the quiet weight of imposter syndrome, wondering if they truly belong in the places God has positioned them.

If you have ever felt that tension, you are not alone.Leadership, especially for women in ministry, often requires courage, conviction, and a deep sense of calling.  But here is what I want you to remember:

Your calling is not accidental.

The gifts, wisdom, compassion, and leadership ability within you were placed there by God… intentionally. You were not created to shrink back from the spaces where your voice, influence, and leadership are needed.

You were created to lead.

Women’s History Month is not only about looking back at the women who shaped history. It is also about recognizing the women who are shaping the future.

Women who are mentoring the next generation.
Women who are building healthy ministries.
Women who are leading with both strength and compassion.
Women who are answering God’s call.

Leadership is not simply about position. It is about influence. It is about using the gifts God has entrusted to you to serve others and advance His kingdom. When women step into their leadership with confidence, humility, and faith, something powerful happens.

Communities are strengthened.
Voices are empowered.
Generations are impacted.

So during this month, I want to encourage you to do three things:

1. Honor the women who came before you.
Their courage made space for many of us to lead today.

2. Strengthen the women beside you.
Leadership becomes more powerful when we walk together, support one another, and share our experiences.

3. Embrace the calling within you.

Do not minimize the influence God has given you.

The world needs women who lead with wisdom, authenticity, and courage.

And if you are reading this, I believe you are one of those women.

Your leadership matters.
